Supporting Childhood Sexual Health for ages Birth-5 years

Jennifer Wiessner, LCSW, AASECT Certified Sex Therapist

live webinar - 1 CE

We are sexual beings from birth yet our sex saturated and sex silent culture does not support what children and parents of small children need to know to develop healthy concepts and behaviors for sexual wellbeing.

Sexual health is a part of our overall mental health and positive communication between parents and children greatly helps young people to establish individual values and to make healthy decisions.

This webinar will explore what sexuality for the birth-5 years age group looks like and what parents and adults that influence children can do to promote healthy sexuality in young children. This webinar will be helpful for therapists that work with families and children to better understand the critical importance of healthy sexuality for early childhood as a part of overall wellbeing.

About the Presenter

Jennifer Wiessner is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, sex educator and presenter in Cumberland, Maine. Although there are 4 now, in 2012 she was the only female sex therapist in the state of Maine.

She has a private therapy and sexual health consultation practice and sees couples, groups and adult individuals and creates and facilitates the popular Raising Sexually Healthy Children workshops to educate parents, medical providers and educators on why talking to youth about sexuality is a healthy, necessary and normal part of life. Along with public speaking on healthy sexuality in hospitals and colleges, Jennifer loves to do non-therapy individual and couples consultations to get them on track with their sexual selves.

Jennifer co-created, Girls On Fire, the innovative annual 1/2 day healthy sexuality retreat for female-identified folx coming back in April 2022. This past summer, Jennifer completed her training to become a Sex and Faith Educator through the Incarnation Institute of Sex and Faith to assist those who seek to reconcile their sexuality and Christian faith. She sees her work as a vocation and herself as a super hero for healthy sexuality wherever it is needed. Jennifer is head over heels with her partner of 25 years, has two teenage sons whom she adores and a West Highland Terrier named Mr. Bingley who rules the roost.
